An Illinois lawyer could be facing disciplinary action after referring to another attorney as a “piece of poop” and threatening to “flay him on a public pillory,” according to disciplinary documents released last week.

Such abusive language has no place in the legal profession, the hearing board of the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission said Jan. 7 in recommending a three-year suspension for attorney Felipe Nery Gomez.
