DOJ's New Cryptocurrency Cop Was at the Vanguard of Cybercrime Prosecutions

When the Justice Department selected Eun Young Choi to lead its new National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team last week, DOJ officials chose a prosecutor who has been at the forefront of prosecuting cybercrime as it has developed and evolved in recent years.

Choi began her career as a federal prosecutor in 2012 in the Southern District of New York, an office known for its aggressive financial crimes prosecutions. Choi led several high-profile fraud cases and eventually became SDNY's cybercrime coordinator.
