A lawyer for the Jan. 6 Committee told a federal judge on Tuesday it’s impossible to believe that John Eastman truly thought his actions regarding the 2020 election results could be lawful, saying his advice was essentially the opposite of legal advice.

“’Just do it and let them sue’ certainly doesn’t sound like the advice was in anticipation of litigation,” House General Counsel Douglas Letter said. “‘Violate the law and let them sue.’ Boy, that’s not legal advice that I’ve ever given in anticipation of litigation.”
