David M. Rubenstein, a 1973 alum of the University of Chicago Law School, has renewed his commitment to the school’s David M. Rubenstein Scholars Program with a $15 million gift that will provide full-tuition scholarships for nearly 60 students in the classes of 2026, 2027 and 2028, the school announced Wednesday.

“In little more than a decade, the Rubenstein Scholars Program has become the most desired scholarship in the legal academy,” Dean Thomas J. Miles, the Clifton R. Musser professor of law and economics, said in a statement. “The program has attracted brilliant students to the University of Chicago Law School, and they have launched outstanding and varied careers. It is thrilling to see the program continue. We are deeply grateful to David for his incomparable leadership and support.”
