Carmaker FCA US has retained Universal & Shannon to fend off a pending lawsuit alleging breaches of the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The complaint was filed Jan. 27 in California Northern District Court by Strategic Legal Practices on behalf of the purchasers of a 2013 Dodge Challenger. Republic Services, a Phoenix-based waste disposal company, has retained lawyer Robert E. Boone III of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner as defense counsel in a pending class action. The case, which arises from a labor strike of the defendants' waste and recycling removal workers, was filed Jan. 25 in California Southern District Court by Khashayar Law Group and Hariri Law Group on behalf of San Diego County residents paying for weekly pickup services.
