Consumer Class Action/Mass Tort Defense

Honigman partners J. Michael Huget and Robert M. Riley and associate Jad Sheikali have stepped in as defense counsel to Gannett Co. in a pending class action over the publisher’s handling of subscriber reading data. The suit, filed March 31 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Bursor & Fisher; the Miller Law Firm; and Hedin Hall LLP, accuses Gannett of selling subscriber data to third parties during a period prior to Aug. 2016 in violation of Michigan’s Preservation of Personal Privacy Act. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Shalina D. Kumar, is 4:22-cv-10685, Batts v. Gannett Co.  >> Read the filing on Law.com Radar.
