Lawyers specializing in hip implant defects are filing a growing number of lawsuits targeting orthopedic devices recalled by manufacturer Exactech Inc.

More than two dozen lawsuits have been filed against Exactech, a manufacturer based in Gainesville, Florida, following recalls relating to its knee, hip and ankle implants. The lawsuits allege that Exactech knew the devices were wearing too soon but failed to inform surgeons until Feb. 7, when it announced a recall of components sold under the product lines Optetrak, Truliant and Vantage.
