A federal judge has allowed claims of Title IX retaliation and breach of contract to continue in a former student’s lawsuit alleging the University of New England wrongly portrayed him as a threat on campus following his complaint of unwanted sexual advances from a professor.

However, U.S. District Court Judge George Z. Singla of the District of Maine did grant the university’s motion to dismiss pertaining to Title IX quid pro quo harassment and negligence allegations.
