A Washington state attorney resigned from the state bar July 18 after pleading guilty to attempted tampering with a witness.

The Disciplinary Board for the Washington State Bar Association said Colville attorney Terry L. Williams violated the state’s rules on misconduct and fairness to opposing counsel when he allegedly attempted to bribe and tamper with a plaintiff bringing civil and criminal charges against his client.
