New York Court of Appeals Associate Judge Jenny Rivera is prepared to remove what is viewed by some as an impediment to her potential ascension to acting chief judge, indicating Tuesday that she’s ready to be vaccinated for COVID-19, ending a months-long holdout.

Rivera has served on the high court since 2013 and is its longest-serving jurist. Her term ends in February 2027.
