The court said it came to the conclusion after a discussion with its consulting epidemiologist. Mask-wearing in any other public areas of a U.S. courthouse or probation office in the district is optional, the order said.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland is requiring all individuals in any courtroom in the district to wear a mask, either KN-95, N-95, surgical or another appropriate option, a federal judge ordered Thursday.
