Section 12.3(a) of Supreme Court Rule 9 provides for the immediate summary suspension of an attorney's license to practice law in cases where an attorney fails to respond to Disciplinary Counsel concerning a complaint of misconduct.

The Supreme Court of Tennessee temporarily suspended a Nashville attorney Friday following her failure to respond to the the Disciplinary Counsel's requests for information regarding a complaint of misconduct.
Davidson County attorney Dana L. Nero is immediately precluded from accepting any new cases and must cease representing existing clients by Nov. 6, 2022, the court said. Following that date, Nero cannot maintain a presence where the practice of law is concerned.
