The Department of Health and Humans Services' denial of Medicare coverage for over 150 vein surgeries a Maryland company performed was properly determined, a federal judge has held.
In an Oct. 18 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland granted summary judgment to HHS after determining that Vein & Wellness Group, a limited liability company specializing in vascular treatments, failed to explain the medical necessity for a varicose vein treatment after receiving notice.
