A federal judge has rejected a Massachusetts attorney’s claims that the state courts violated his reasonable accommodation request to be exempt from a standing order requiring all individuals wear a mask in courthouses to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The attorney, Robert N. Meltzer of The Mountain States Law Group in Concord, Massachusetts, alleges that he was barred from in-person hearings in the Land Court, Middlesex Superior Court, Worcester Superior Court, Uxbridge District Court, and the Middlesex Probate and Family Court after he refused to wear a mask.
