When the Association of American Law Schools welcomes its next president, Mark C. Alexander, on Saturday, Erwin Chemerinsky will become past president closing out a successful year leading the association.

Chemerinsky was just reappointed to a second term as dean of the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, when he became AALS’ president nearly a year ago with his theme of “How Law Schools Can Make a Difference.”
