In this week's episode, Law.com legal technology reporter Isha Marathe speaks with Amir Ghavi, an IP attorney at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, about the copyright concerns involved in AI-generated art.

Often, the discussions around AI-generated art focus on fair use and the ownership of the outputs, but Ghavi said neither of those questions might matter at the end of the day. AI could have military, financial and cybersecurity applications. Ghavi said that, ultimately, the U.S. government might deem it a matter of public policy that AI is an important technological advancement and they don't want to cede leadership in the area to China or Europe.
