The Idaho Supreme Court accepted an attorney’s resignation in lieu of disciplinary proceedings last week for forging a judge’s signature and filing stamped documents pertaining to a client’s adoption case she failed to file.

Kathryn L. Marsh was retained in 2020 to file an adoption petition seeking to terminate the parental rights of the biological father of the client’s minor child and seeking the adoption of the child by the client’s husband. Marsh informed the client in July 2021 that the biological father had signed the consent form and the attorney also provided copies of an order for adoption and judgment for adoption, according to the state high court’s disciplinary order filed Jan. 18.
