An attorney for a former Girardi Keese partner pleaded not guilty to criminal charges on behalf of his client, accused of stealing $3 million from the families of airplane crash victims.

Tom Girardi’s son-in-law, David Lira, 62, appeared virtually at a hearing in Chicago after federal prosecutors indicted him Feb. 1 on charges of wire fraud and criminal contempt of court.
