A Massachusetts court has sided with a law firm, reversing a denial of the firm's motion for summary judgment after finding the plaintiffs—former clients for whom the firm obtained a $6 million medical-malpractice settlement—failed to introduce admissible evidence on damages.

In a March 28 opinion, Massachusetts Appeals Court Justice John Englander reversed a previous ruling denying law firm Lubin & Meyer's motion for summary judgment in regards to their former clients suing the firm over its alleged failure to "competently develop evidence of damages" in a previous suit, which "resulted in a lower recovery than should have been obtained."
