Ropes & Gray’s former Hong Kong managing partner and head of its Asia restructuring and special situations practice, Daniel Anderson, has left the firm with a team of associates to join Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Law.com International has learned.

Freshfields currently does not have any restructuring, distressed assets or special situation partners based in Greater China. Anderson’s joining with a team of lawyers will launch that focused regional offering for the firm. In the firm’s other Asia offices including Japan and Vietnam, Freshfields does have two other partners who also advise on restructuring matters.
