The family of a Michigan man who was shot and killed with an illegally purchased shotgun is now turning their attention to the retailer who allegedly sold the weapon through a ”straw purchase.”

Daniel Banaszak was shot and killed by Robert Williams Eakins Jr., of Lee Township, Michigan, in August 2020. Eakins, who was sentenced to life in prison, had a prior felony conviction before the shooting and was barred from legally possessing or purchasing a firearm, according to the Holland Sentinel newspaper.
