A Pennsylvania judge has sided with the University of Scranton, dismissing a former professor's suit against the institution after it fired him for refusing to disclose his COVID-19 vaccination status.

In a July 17 opinion, U.S. Magistrate Chief Judge Karoline Mehalchick of the Middle District of Pennsylvania granted the University of Scranton, its Faculty Affairs Counsel and Provost Jeffrey Gingerich's motions to dismiss, concluding former professor Benjamin Bishop's claims against the defendants failed. However, the court granted Bishop 28 days to file an amended complaint, pursuant to Third Circuit instructions.
