The Montana Supreme Court affirmed a man's conviction, determining his right to a speedy trial hadn't been violated despite waiting over 1,300 days for the state to bring his case to trial.
In a July 25 opinion, the state high court determined that while the state hadn't show a valid reason for the delay, which was six times beyond the 200-day trigger period, the appellant, Kenneth Wayne Daly, hadn't showed that he was prejudiced by the delay.
