A federal judge in West Virginia sided with a Louisiana law firm and one of its shareholders accused of failing to inform a medical facility that thousands of dollars of its funds had been released from an escrow account to purchase COVID-19 personal protective equipment.

Senior U.S. District Judge John T. Copenhaver Jr. of the Southern District of West Virginia concluded that the New Orleans-based law firm, Aaron & Gianna, and one of its attorneys, DeWayne L. Williams, only owed a duty to its client, Vetcomm, the seller of the PPE.
