The South Carolina Court of Appeals reversed and remanded an order denying a defendant convicted of first-degree lynching and murder post-conviction relief, finding she was prejudiced by being shackled for much of her trial.

According to the Sept. 28 opinion, authored by South Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Aphrodite Konduros, Robin Gray Reese was prejudiced by her counsel's failure to object to her being shackled during the majority of her trial, as well as failing to object to a lead investigator's testimony regarding the guilt of multiple parties in the case.
