Over here at Lean Adviser, we love to talk about why lawyers exist. The answer, of course, is to solve client problems. But occasionally we get asked why Lean Adviser exists. The answer is to reconnect the legal profession by elevating client service to the level which clients deserve. Ambitious for sure, but vitally important.

As readers will know, our solution for this bold project is our Lean Law program, which infuses emotional intelligence (EQ) and other good attributes into law firms. Clients loved this idea out of the box, and now law firms are coming around.

Better communications, collaborative planning and structured legal work all come as standard, and these basic staples go a long way to addressing the disconnects that exist between what clients want and what attorneys deliver. All of which brings us to our next mini-series, and the reason law firms are taking an interest in business development (or "biz dev" in most shops).
