Following years of a fraught succession planning process, Boies Schiller Flexner partners elected on Friday evening David Boies’ successor.

Matthew Schwartz, who has served as co-managing partner of the firm for three years, will serve as chair of the firm—a three-year term—starting in January 2025. The partnership voted Schwartz as chair-elect at the firm’s annual retreat in Key Biscayne. Meanwhile, Boies was again elected as chair, serving a final term in 2024.
