The last few weeks have seen two big law firms expand their space in Manhattan in new office leases, another sign of some firms choosing to buck the trend of smaller offices in an era of hybrid working arrangements.

King & Spalding, a tenant at SL Green’s 1185 Sixth Ave. at West 47th St. for two decades, is one of the latest to secure new, larger space. The firm is moving five blocks north to 1290 Sixth Ave. in 2025 in a 175,000-square-foot space that comprises three floors, the firm confirmed last week. King & Spalding now has 169,000 square feet.
