As hair relaxer products liability multidistrict litigation is underway in the Northern District of Illinois, there is a corresponding surge brewing in Georgia’s state courts—particularly in Chatham and DeKalb counties.

The influx of new lawsuits stems from the release of a 2022 study from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences that found women who used hair relaxers more than four times a year were more than twice as likely to develop uterine cancer.
