As we saw in Part 1 of our summary of the State of the Industry, as revealed at LegalWeek 24, the first big theme was client service. And now we move to the second, and it's a biggie — AI.

Let's be clear, generative AI (or Gen AI), isn't an alternative to client service. Nor is it a distinct issue. Gen AI is part of your clients' lived experience and so it should be part of your client service, just like any other technology. This insight came across loud and clear from LegalWeek, as stated during the State of the Industry keynote:

It's impossible to discuss the current state of the legal industry without discussing the potential and expected impact of generative AI on both the business and the practice of law. As with most innovation, there will always be direct and indirect uses that impact any chosen profession, which will likely be the case within the legal profession.
