Leading American multinational technology companies have been under assault the last several years in both the United States and EU. Antitrust challenges abound to business models and particular practices. Content moderation policies are attacked for being both too much and too little. Privacy practices are scrutinized and criticized.
But another fundamental threat to tech is emerging as well on both sides of the Atlantic: regulation as a common carrier.
