Texas Attorney General Kenneth Paxton filed a petition for review at the Texas Supreme Court, seeking to reverse a Dallas Court of Appeals denial of his attempt to dismiss a State Bar of Texas ethics complaint.
A three-judge panel of the Fifth District appellate court in Dallas on April 18 dismissed the appeal for want of jurisdiction, reasoning the attorney general is not a “governmental unit” who can seek an interlocutory appeal.
