A class action complaint filed in a federal court in Boston on Tuesday alleges the multinational aerospace and defense conglomerate RTX Corp. discriminated against older job applicants and refused to hire workers for positions unless they were recent graduates.

AARP Foundation, along with attorneys from Peter Romer-Friedman Law and Outten & Golden, filed the complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts alleging hiring practices by RTX, formerly known as Raytheon Technologies Corp., violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Massachusetts Fair Employment Practices Act and the Virginia Human Rights Act. The filing seeks relief for older workers denied or deterred from job opportunities at the Arlington, Virginia-based company, considered one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies.
