Electronic filing in existing Kansas appellate cases resumed Monday and will become mandatory starting next week for the completion of most paper-only processes put in place months ago after a cybersecurity incident dramatically impacted the state’s system.

Resuming electronic filing in Kansas appellate court follows the June 17 launch of a new case management system used by the state Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and clerk of the appellate courts, the state’s judicial branch said in a news release.
