While the New Jersey Senate confirmed six nominees to the Superior Court last Friday, two judges have since retired this week, bringing judicial vacancies to 40 empty seats as lawmakers head into the summer months with no legislative sessions currently scheduled.
While Friday’s total vacancy topped at 38 vacancies, two more judges’ retirements went into effect July 1, bringing the updated total to 40.
