Johnson & Johnson lost its bid to subpoena Beasley Allen and others in an escalating fight over its planned $6.48 billion talc bankruptcy after a special master on Tuesday granted motions to quash the requests.

Retired U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel Schneider, of the District of New Jersey, ruled that there was not good cause to allow J&J to pursue discovery about Beasley Allen’s litigation financing.
