After a year of research by a State Bar of Texas task force, a first draft of recommendations on the use of artificial intelligence in the law is expected to be published before the end of this fiscal year.

Joshua Weaver, a state bar staff liaison to the Taskforce for Responsible AI in the Law (TRAIL) provided a status report recently to the Committee on Disciplinary Rules and Referenda, the state bar and Texas Supreme Court joint committee that must eventually steer development of any final rules on the subject.
