For over a decade now, the narrative around artificial intelligence (AI) in the legal world has swung between cautious intrigue and outright fear. Many legal professionals perceive AI as a “big bad wolf” lurking in the shadows, poised to take their jobs.

And it’s easy to understand why. Lawyers have been singled out as an “endangered occupational species.” Many of their day-to-day tasks are now ripe for automation, with some saying that AI will replace lawyers altogether.
