A county judge in a small, eastern Kentucky community was fatally shot in his chambers Thursday, Gov. Andy Beshear confirmed on social media.
Letcher County Sheriff Shawn M. Hines is accused of shooting District Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, multiple times following an argument inside the Whitesburg, Kentucky, courthouse, police said. Stine reportedly surrendered without incident, and Mullins died at the scene, according to police.
