An Arkansas County judge and prosecutor are facing a complaint in federal court over their enforcement of an ordinance that allegedly targets the business of a cryptocurrency mining company over its noise levels.

NewRays, the crypto-mining company, sued Faulkner County Judge Allen Dodson, prosecuting attorney Phil Murphy and others. Justin Daniels, a partner at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz and co-chair of the Am Law 100 firm's blockchain and digital assets practice who is not involved in the matter, said that the concept of selective enforcement in some industries rather than others resonated with him.
