Average partner compensation in Philadelphia hit the $1 million mark as of 2023, according to a new Major, Lindsey & Africa survey, jumping from $744,000 in 2021.
The survey, which was national in scope and examined responses from slightly over 1,700 attorneys, found that compensation for Am Law 200 equity and nonequity partners combined has doubled over the course of the past 10 years, with compensation among the highest earners growing at a faster rate. The study further found significant correlations between compensation and partner origination figures as well as partner billing rates.
