Class action litigation against Bio-Lab Inc. and KIK Custom Products Inc. is advancing following a Sept. 29 fire at a plant in Conyers, Georgia, that resulted in the release of hazardous chemicals and the evacuation of more than 17,000 residents.

After consolidating 18 class action complaints, a federal judge has greenlit the litigation's advancement by appointing interim class counsel and committee members. The 16 appointed attorneys hail from separate firms in Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, New York, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.
