A federal judge in Massachusetts is allowing a racial discrimination claim against a litigation financing company, finding its former chief executive officer plausibly established he was treated differently than other white employees.

In a Tuesday opinion, U.S. District Judge Patti B. Saris for the District of Massachusetts partially denied the defendant, LexShares' attempts to dismiss a racial discrimination suit filed by its former CEO, Cayse Llorens. Llorens, a Black man, accused the company and two board members of discriminating against him, claiming he was pushed out of his role and that he received less favorable treatment than his white co-workers.
