The University of Chicago was hit with a civil rights lawsuit brought by a former student who claims he was allegedly unlawfully evicted from his campus dormitory and threatened with arrest after participating in a peaceful protest against Israel's actions in Gaza.
Takeaway: The complaint alleges that the eviction was unlawful and constituted a violation of the student's First Amendment rights. It follows another civil rights complaint against the university filed in the fall by advocacy group Palestine Legal.
