K&L Gates filed a false-advertising lawsuit on behalf of Epson America this week in a Massachusetts federal court alleging that a competitor, Yaber Technologies, made misleading statements about the brightness of its projectors in its labeling and advertising.
Takeaway: Epson's latest lawsuit is part of a string of litigation filed against competitors. Earlier this month, K&L Gates filed another suit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Epson's behalf against Nomvdic Corp., similarly accusing the defendant of falsely advertising its projectors by making misrepresentations about the items' brightness. In another suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Epson similarly accused an online reseller as falsely advertising the brightness of its projectors.
