DeMayo Law Offices, a North Carolina personal injury law firm, and its legal intake service provider were hit with a consumer class action alleging they violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 by sending multiple telemarketing calls to people listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.
Takeaway: This lawsuit comes right before the TCPA changes on Monday. Under a new one-to-one consent rule, anyone soliciting consumers must obtain their written consent before sending robocalls or text messages.
