Perkins Coie is backing a suit that seeks to overturn President Donald Trump's executive order banning military service by transgender persons. The latest suit is the second time a court will take up such a ban on military service by transgender persons by Trump, who issued a similar order during his first term in 2017.
The firm joined the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and Lambda Legal to file a suit in the Western District of Washington on behalf of a group of openly transgender service members and one would-be service member whose plan to enlist in the Marine Corps is blocked by the ban.
