Average compensationall partners rose by 3 percent in 2012, compared to 1.9 percent in 2011. Sixty-two firms posted increases, compared to 72 the previous year. Because this metric takes both equity and nonequity types of partners into account, we consider it the most complete assessment of partner pay at Am Law 100 firms.
Bracewell & Giuliani had the biggest increase, 33.6 percent. Twelve other firms posted growth rates of more than 10 percent. Three firms posted double-digit declines. Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson had the sharpest, 17.2 percent.
