For the first time ever neither Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom nor Baker & McKenzie heads The Am Law 100s gross revenue rankings. DLA Piperalready the worlds largest firm by head countis now the top-grossing firm as well. Twenty firms posted gross revenue of $1 billion or more, compared to 17 in 2011.
Seventy-six firms reported gains in gross revenue, compared to 80 a year ago. The biggest increase, 23.4 percent, was posted by McKenna Long & Aldridge. Shook, Hardy & Bacon had the steepest decline, in gross revenue, 7.2 percent.
