All 83,000 New Jersey lawyers, including in-house counsel and judges, should be required to take 24 credits of course work every two years, a state Supreme Court committee recommends.
After a year of study, the panel gave a resounding “yes” to mandatory continuing legal education, saying “it could not find a compelling case” against making New Jersey the 44th state to institute MCLE.
